Different text shown based on quantity on product page

I tried to code it myself, but it all went wrong...

What I'm trying to do is modify the code relating to TEXT_PRODUCT_QUANTITY

I would like it so that if the quantity of an item is 0 then it would use the text define TEXT_PRODUCT_NOSTOCK

if the item had between 1 and 5 things in stock it would use the define TEXT_PRODUCT_LOWSTOCK

and if it had more than 5 in stock it would just use the
TEXT_PRODUCT_QUANTITY define

I can't get my if statements to work, can anyone help me modify the tpl_product_info_display.php file?
