Testing my cart I get errors right at the end when confirming order

Hi, I went back and installed V1.3.8 of Zencart on my server, set it up completely and just testing the cart out I got a error right at the end of checkout when I click confirm order.

ERROR WITH CEON URL'S ENABLED

2006 MySQL server has gone away

ERROR WITHOUT CEON URL'S ENABLED

2006 MySQL server has gone away

I know it means connection lost as from a google search but cannot find a problem before this with the same point off lost connection.

Any ideas? I didnt install anything major just CEON URL's and an extra shipping module and payment module and the template which was a freebie but V1.3.8 compatible.

I should think before posting.

Just when I reloaded my files to the server I didnt allow the write privalege of my cache folder

All fixed once I made my cache folder CHMOD = 777
