Problem changing/editing sideboxes with AppleZen

I have version 1.3.8, it was recently upgraded all the way from 1.2.6. I installed the AppleZen template and found that even though all my sideboxes under tools/layout boxes controller are marked OFF, many of them are still present on my site.

I need to add and remove a couple of them, and probably rename them too. How can I edit them? And disable ones online right now? Is there any further information on sideboxes I have missed? I checked the wiki and the forums and couldn't find anyone with my issue.

Any help would be much appreciated :)

You might need to clear your browser cache

No, it's definitely not that. That was one of the first things I tried.

I've also noticed that the sideboxes do not change no matter how I arrange or edit them in the tools/layout boxes controller. Any ideas?

Switch to classic & see if there is something basic amiss
If ok in classic find the support thread for that template

Although some are marked ON and others OFF in classic, I am still unable to enable/disable any. The ones marked ON aren't necessarily on and vice versa with the ones marked OFF.

Well that is not the default classic???

If it is not responding as it should and you are seeking to use the applezen template(has it's own folders) - I would load a fresh fileset over the current files - insure that your FTP is set to overwrite
