help question URL problems after changing hosts

I'm new here so please be patient and kind!

I am using Bluehost and created a test domain name since I already had a live site somewhere else and was un happy with them.

I figured that I can configure Zen Cart get it ready and move my site over when I was finished. Well I did! Before I moved my real domain name over I created a copy of my file structure and a copy of my Database. Called them test...

I moved my domain over as an addon to my test domain name, changed the 2 configure.php files under each directory structure and am off and running. All looks good except that in the configure.php files it seems like I have to leave the url's pointed to the test domain in the live site. When I change them to the live domain name, I loose all my graphics and html! but if I leave the test domain names in all looks good and my customers can actually use the live URL to get in but my problem is that once they hit a link to go to a product, category or whatever the URL changes to the test domain name. It still hits the right directory structure and DB but I'm worried that people will see that url and think something is wrong.

    Help!!!!

    P.S. I'm at v1.3.8a

Sounds like you didn't completely (or properly) edit the configure.php files. Post their contents (without login and password info) and we'll take a look.

Do you have any redirects set up, or any SEO mods installed?

Always include a link to the site, if possible.

Thanks for your response but all seems to be better. It was how I set up the file directory at Bluehost and they actually had to rename my primary domain name from the test domain I setup originally to the live domain that I transferred over and make it the primary domain. I do have to say they were very helpful.

    Thanks again.
