Store & Gallery In One

I want to set up my website/store with the store and a gallery section that doesn't display price and is formatted differently. I was thinking of copying my store to a 'showcase' directory, reconfiguring that section for gallery purposes etc. and then hard coding the header navigation section. This seems cumbersome to update, or re-template for specials/seasons. Can this be done with one installation. What's the best way to approach this.

A couple of thoughts-

There are several Gallery-style contributions in the Free Add-Ons area you might want to take a look at.

Another option might be a flash-type gallery that has been discussed here in the forums. You might use a define_page for it.

I've tested but not integrated the latter. Put it both on a define_page and a category page and it works just fine.
