help question Using Multiple Zen Carts With 1 PayPal Account

    Hello,

I have 15 websites with Zen Cart installed, and I have one PayPal account. Is there a way for me to setup each store to checkout at PayPal and still go back to each store that created the order?

Yes just make sure that you are using the primary paypal email address in the zen cart paypal module and make sure that auto return and IPN are on at paypal.com

    paypal does the rest

I'm setting up a second site to use with the same paypal account and had an order come in but I think something is wrong with the PayPal IPN. Anyway, I wanted to know what to use in the place of the Auto Return if you have multiple websites? It is currently set up to return to my first website.

No change required. Zen Cart is smart enough to send the right URL from each separate store.

    In the FAQ, you mention:

"There is one caveat: Your customers will see the name of your PayPal account when making payment ... even if that doesn't match your store's name."

It's true. This is a fairly big negative since consumers may be confused or dismayed by seeing "Soulless Corp" in big letters at the top of the page when they jump over to paypal to make their payment...especially since they were ordering a product from "funkypants.com"!

One nice way to minimize this shock effect is to create different page styles over at paypal.com that will match each of your incoming websites in style. You can do this at paypal.com in the Profile section by clicking on "custom payment page styles". You will see the default page style when you view that page, then just click on "add" to make a new style. Name it, for example, "funkypantsstyle", enter a funkypants logo URL, set a funky background color, etc., then click save. Do this again to create a different style page for each of your incoming websites (e.g. funkypants.com, monkeyfood.com, etc.).

Now go back to your Zen Cart admin page for funkypants.com. Click on modules, then payment, then select the paypal module. Edit this module and change the page style from Primary to funkypantsstyle. Save.

Next time your customer is making a payment, when they jump over to Paypal, a nice big funkypants logo will appear on the top of the paypal page. Sure, it will still have "Soulless Corp" printed in a couple of places on the page, but it will not be as disturbing to the consumer with the big funkypants logo showing at the top of the page.

OK, not ideal, but that's the best I could come up with based on the limitations of current Paypal system.
