I'm looking for a plain ZenCart template. Something like plaintxt.org has for WordPress. Just a really basic css layout (no tables). Does anyone know of any?

Look at www.zencarttemplates.info . One of the simplest, cleanest ones would be future_zen. Most of the templates there are tableless (except for the one #contentMainWrapper table, retained to make it less likely that inexperienced users would break the column layout).

The very simplest template is Bare Bones which is just the stylesheet.
