    application error Can't get tempalte to fill browser window

    I have just made my website but I cannot get it to fill the entire browser and it's just centered (Stock) and makes everything look cramped. I tried to edit the stylesheet.css but it made no difference based on the FAQs so I really hope someone can help me, I have Zen Cart 1.38. Here's my site: http://tinyurl.com/ycymx88

    Edit your stylesheet.

    Remove

    width:750px in #mainWrapper

    I just tried that and it did nothing. Directory for the stylesheet is public_html/(domain).com/includes/templates/template_default/css right? Because that's the one i'm editing with no results.

    No. Never ever edit any files in template_default and save it there. Since you have the standard template, you edit public_html/(domain).com/includes/templates/classic/css

    If there is no such file, you save the edited stylesheet there since the template folder is the first place where zencart looks for your files.

    But even better, you make your own template folder (See tutorials) and dont overwrite the classic as well, so you can always check at a later time, when something isnt working, it it still works with the original classic template.

    Template_default is probably not in use. As tino.schlegel says, create your own custom template.

    Instead of removing that line, change it to

    Code:
    width: 100%;
    Check http://(sorry, site offline)/ to see the free templates available for Zen Cart in action. You might spot one that you like.

    Hi.

    Can any one help? I've followed the instructions as per the tutorial and this thread. But my site will not fill the browser window. I am running my monitor at full resolution (does that matter?).

    I have the following code:

    /*wrappers - page or section containers*/
    #mainWrapper {
    background-color: #ffffff;
    text-align: left;
    width: 100%;
    vertical-align: top;
    border: 1px solid #9a9a9a;

    Changed the width: 100%; from width: 750px as per the instructions.

    my website is http://www.LushAdultCocnepts.com.au

    any help is much appreciated.

    Your Template Monster template has another div inside #mainWrapper called .main_w (stylesheet_tm.css, line 45).
    Its current value is 766px; set it to 100%.

    There are some other things that will show up when you do that, so some further adjustments will be necessary.

    ... and now that you have done that do you realize how awful it looks stretched across a 24" screen?

    I dont have a 24inch screen

    I did notice that it widened in internet explorer, but not fire fox as well.

    Any suggestions as to what width I should have it at as opposed to 100%, maybe 1024px? I just think it was too thin as as standard, it left 2 white gaps of about an 2 inches on either side of the browser.

    Also the header image didn't widen. Is this because I need to change the dimensions of the image? Or can you set this to auto adjust somewhere as well?

    Thanks for the feed back, BTW. And the soultion.

    Any fixed width image used in the header is just that - fixed width. In order to get it to adjust when the browser window width changes you need to use two images which slide over each other as required. Google "sliding door technique" to see lots of info about this. The first link, from A List Apart, is the one you want.
