Getting a blank page after payed to paypal

version 1.3.8.
I go to paypal, make the payment, and it's supposed to redirect back to zencart page with download.
This also happens when ordering a product for shipping.
Instead I get a blank page.

I HAVE looked in FAQS area, tells me to make debugging changes to a file in includes/local/config.php
I don't have such a directory.

Anything else I should look for? Desperate for help

I installed the debugger as per the instructions.

Ran a purchase on paypal. Still get a blank page on the return from paypal.

No files were generated from the debugger :-(

You'll have to provide A LOT MORE information about what's happening if you want help.

There are 3 built-in PayPal modules. Which one are you using?
What version of Zen Cart are you using?
What patches have you installed, if any?
What addons have you installed, if any?
What customizations have you made to your site, if any?
Also, when you click the "Reply" button below, there are LOTS MORE QUESTIONS in the "Posting Tips" section above where you type in your post/reply, which you've conveniently skipped when making your last posts ... include answers to those AS WELL.

Version 1.3.8 hosted by godaddy
Paypal IPN - WebPayments Standard
No plugins/addons that I installed.
I have looked in the FAQ area, please forgive that I am not a guru.
This problem happens with BOTH my products (I have no others). One is download, one is for shipping. Paypal, accepts and processes the payment, (I get emails confirming this). After payment is processed, blank page is displayed at:

What other information can I provide?

Days and days and days I have spent. My client was about to kill me!

I am so thank full for your help.

As for godaddy - its my clients choice NOT MINE
