copying from localhost to live site?

Okay so I downloaded and installed zencart to my localhost. I then backed up my online store and installed it to my local drive. I made all the changes and have the store the way I want it. I thought i would just need to override the old store folder with the new one. Problem is the old store looks just like it did before I overwrote the files. What step did I make...Also I didnt actually overwrite the old store..I called it store(o) and uploaded the store folder from my harddrive. Icorrected the config files to match what I have now and the store works, but with all the old data and layout.

Sounds like you didn't copy over your database. A lot of the configuration information is stored in the database. So you should do a database dump of your localhost database and copy that to your production database. You might want to create a new database schema with a prefix different from the original like 'zen1_' or something and copy your localhost database to that. This way you could quickly switch between your old database and new just by changing your zencart config file.

I went back and recopied the files again. Worked like a charm. Must have been something missed. Thank you
