    Default Google Analytics: Current Instuctions???

Hello everyone. The more posts and threads that I read in regards to Google Analytics the more I got confused as to the best way to go. As far as I gathered info, Andrew's Analytics is better, and should be rather easy to install. However, after looking through more info it seems that google might have changed a few things since it was last updated.

What is the currently the best option for this?

P.S., yes I am a newbie, but I am almost finished with my first site so I am started to feel a little zenned (ME ZENCART)

I am using the Google Analytics by Andrew that supports the Advanced EComemrce features. Its still working thus it seems google hasnt changed anything.

And its very easy to install you just have to copy all the files and than add one line to your footer file. Read the addon readme.txt for detailed instructions.

Thank you for the reply, I will do a backup and test it out today or tomorrow and report back on it.

you don't really need a mod just copy the analytics code in the file:

    yourdomain.com/includes/templates/your-template/common/tpl_main_page.php

    much easier imo.

well... it depends how much activity you want to track.

This would be better in tpl_footer.php ...

But I trust Andrew Berezin's modules absolutely. I'm sure if Andrew believed that his (substantial) was not useful, then hw would not have wretten it.

I install GA on many customers' sites and it takes just a few minutes. And they work perfectly.

i agree its useful sure, but i just think for some even installing a module is not straight forward, its just another option. I think the tpl_main_page will track everything you need as it loads on every page.

Hmmmm... I don't use GA personally - I prefer WebTrends - but my customers seem to think GA is useful, so I install it when requested.

Berezin's mod is easy to install, and as your method involves an "edit", (as does Berezin's mod) there's really no difference in skills required to make the changes.

However, Berezin's mod is hyper efficient and also helps with tracking adwords on checkout.

O.k., all went well with the installation and it appears to be functioning properly. The only thing is, I am not sure that I have it configured 100% correct. I did a posting in the "Community Contributed Add-Ons > All Other Contributions/Addons" section to seek help, so if you can assist me with that, I appreciate it.

Default Google Analytics - Error in reports

    Hello everyone,

I have had Andrews Google Analytics installed for several months. There is a glitch in my Analytics account that I noticed and would like to try to resolve. Some of the purchases made on my web site do not show up on my Google Analytics reports. Has anyone else run into this error?? If so was there a resolution?

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
