Products not showing up why

I just moved my site to a different server and I fallowed the steps in the FAQ page and did the data base import. All customers where imported but non of the products or orders were imported. The catagories were imported with the catagory images. but now products why did this happen?

Can you look at your database via phpMyAdmin and see if there is data in the product tables?

no it shows nothing but in the data base that I had on the other sever it shows the products and orders. Is there a way that I can just export the products and orders or should I export the whole data base

If you have done anything in the NEW installation that afffects the database, then if you re-import the OLD database, you will lose any changes. This may include:

New customers that signed up in the new shop
Configuration settings (eg: choice of template)
etc...

You should now do a DUMP of both databases into SQL files, then run them through Winmerge or Beyond Compare to see if/where differences appear.

Based on the results of that, you can then decide whether to re-import the entire database, or just select certain tables and their contents.

If you are unsure, create a NEW empty database, and "restore" the old one into that new one. Then point the configure.php files to it, run fix_cache_key.php and see what happens.
