Shipping Estimator: USPS shipping and mixed download/physical products

Running 1.38a+security+FEC+USPS-may-2008 patch.

I've got USPS and Free Shipping (freeshipper) shipping enabled, running on their production server. My products are deliverable either via download or shipment.

If a shopping cart has only shippable products, the Shipping Estimator works properly. If a shopping cart contains a mixture of downloaded and shippable products, the Shipping Estimator returns nada.

As a test, I enabled the Flat Rate and Per Item forms of shipping and both of them show up (the Per Item value is correct for the number of shippable products).

Anybody got any ideas?
