Change order of home page - featured items above new products for december--

I have searched but can not find the answer to what I need doing.

I would like to change the layout of my home page. I would like the featured products to be above the new products for december - january or whatever the month.

I would also like to rename the featured title to something else.

My store url is ravsappliances.com

Another thing that I would like to do is to add a percentage logo for the products which are specials even if I use a special as a featured product. I wanted something like a star or a image which will be eye catching however I do not want to add the image to the picture so that when it enlarges the percent sign will also enlarge. Its difficult to explain however below I have added a url to a store doing something similar

you will notice that the image for this product has a eye catching image for a free 3 year warranty and when you enlarge the image only the tv image enlarges leaving out the free warranty image.

I am looking to do something similar

Try ADMIN > CONFIGURATION > Index Listing.

Within that section you can set priority (1-9999) for each homepage listing e.g.

Show New Products on Main Page = Value 1
Show Featured Products on Main Page = Value 2
etc

Have a play and you will see the outcome.

I would also like to rename the featured title to something else.
