Shop won't display & can't get into admin

HELP! Everything was fine yesterday. Now my store shows a blank page and i can't get into my admin. Have debugged and get this message a couple of hundred times.
PHP Deprecated: Function ereg() is deprecated in /customers/***media.com/***media.com/httpd.www/shop/includes/classes/db/mysql/query_factory.php on line 139
then another two similar lines.
(I have replaced real path with *** for security reasons)
All I have done is moved the shop to a different directory, but everything was fine after i moved it but now it's not.

It looks like your hosting environment has been upgraded to PHP 5.3
Starting from PHP 5.3 some functions of PHP have been depricated, including widespread functions like ereg() and split().

Only way to fix this is either adjust the code in that file yourselves or downgrade to PHP 5.2.12

worked a treat, many thanks. Would suggest this could be a massive problem as my server upgraded without informing us. They are a very large webserver!

Hi

I've just been caught by this problem ("Deprecated: Function ereg() is deprecated") and seen the fix (http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=140960)

Trouble is, I don't remember what version of Zen Cart I'm using. (I passed this shop over to a client over a year ago). How can I find out the version if I can't access the admin?

You can peek in the /includes/version.php file to see what version the PHP files are likely at.

Looks like it's version 3.8, so the patch should be fine.
