Shipping Method Required

Before I posted this I checked with Template Monster tech support and they referred me here so hopefully this indeed is not another template issue like my other posts...also I searched the forum and did not find an answer so forgive me if I missed it.

I would like to know if it is possible to make the "Shipping Method" a required checkbox on checkout page 1 so people can't skip the shipping method and checkout without paying shipping?

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

How is your shipping currently configured that allows them to be able to checkout without paying for shipping? Do you have a website to take a look at?

I have table rates enabled and free shipping over $50.

Looks to me like your cart is working properly.

When I added one item and went to checkout, the flat rate radio button was selected and the $5.00 was added to the order.

When I added more than $50.00 worth, the Free Shipping message appeared, and no shipping was added.

Awesome. Hopefully it was a hiccup when tested and it doesn't happen again.
