Is there a way to force all visitors to the site to login/register before viewing products/categories? The products I'm going to be selling are only intended to be available to certified users. Additionally, when a user registers, is there a way to put them into a "pending review" status such that before they are able to obtain access to the catalog, that an admin would have to approve their account first?

Under Configuration >> Customer Details, just change the Customer Shop Status - View Shop and Prices to "1", "Must login to browse".
