all email has stopped working suddenly

All email communication from my shop has stopped. Everything was ok before today. I have changed nothing but i got error message (so do customers) which just give a page with email errors on it. I have now changed admin setting in email settings to 'friendly' so that at least orders etc. still go through but no emails are being sent to me. What could have happened. I use the default setting, php, and that was fine. I tried changing to smtp but it just crashed.....

Did you ever solve this , My email from store completely stopped too and I tried all transports but still not working .

Same thing happened to me yesterday - no emails whatsoever -contact us, new orders, refer a friend, everything! I tried all delivery methods with no luck, I emptied the email log database, and I am completely out of ideas. We made no changes to the backside before this happened and it appears that zen cart thinks emails are getting sent since we get a success message and the message gets logged into the db. My next step is to call godaddy to see if they made any serverside updates in the past 48 hours that would do this. Help!
