Default high query and parse times

If both times are high does this automatically indicate poor server performance?

For some reason my site is much slower since I upgraded EP and that shouldn't matter I don't think to speed.

    Parse Time: 17.482 - Number of Queries: 858 - Query Time: 7.24082623792

Any thoughts? I already am working with my host on this.

Query time represents the time to perform the mysql calls
Parse time is rhe time the php is assembled at the server into a deliverable page

Up until 5 - 10 days ago my site was wicked fast. So do these indicate a host problem completely?

They are directly related are they not? Meaning if your host is slow then everything will be slow.

But if your db is messed up somehow then same thing can happen can't it?

Or am I high? Little direction as I am not understanding the direction to go.

To check if it might be the DB
You should have a db backup prior to using/changing with EP
    Take a fresh one
Apply previous one - check load times
    Reapply the fresh one

Yes I will try that but that is a hassle have to do it over the weekend. It just seems odd that EP would be related but I guess it could be. Only way to be sure...

Host is working on it too. It is probably them.

If you have the backup, making a current one and swapping twice is no more than 30 minutes

Yes I understand but I can't really do it live so the weekend is better as you never know what hiccup will delay progress.

I appreciate your help. I did scan the sql again and that didn't help. I told my host MT that I had issues they told me a 16 second ping time was pretty good.

Pretty good. The frontpage page is 32k with 21k being image so I thought that was pretty well optimized better than most.

I am doing the free rackspace promo to see if i get the results I need or if it is a website issue. How do you ever really know unless you eliminate the pipeline as a possible reason.

I am shared with MT and another is dedicated and the dedicated still did not provide the results I'd expect. 32k should essentially be instantaneous IMO any delay would be on user side of issue I'd think.
