Instead spending days upon days trying to figure out how to get our site to look like we want I think we are going to look for someone who would set the initial site up for us. Found this site and thought it could be a good format. We are going to do all the site content loading, we just need a hand getting the site configured? http://www.kotapparel.com/

If you look at the source code in your browser, you'll see what template that site uses here:

Googling pure_black template will take you to the site they bought it from. Installing a pre-made template is usually pretty easy - I'd try doing it yourself.
