Default Moving site to a new URL

I am going to open a new webstore with a different name and different URL. I have literally forgotten many of the little tweaks and changes I researched to get my original site just the way I want it.

Is there a way to make a copy of my site and set it up at a new URL?

I saw that....If I go to a new URL, will my catalog have a bunch of broken links though? I guess I don't really have an understanding of how the database works.

If you follow the directions correctly (backup and restore the database, copy all the Zen Cart folders and files to the new location, edit both configure files), everything should work as it does at the old location.

Thanks...I will just trust that it'll work out and give it a shot.

One last question...If I just wanted to copy all the theme, layout, configuration, etc but not the content, Is that easier or harder?

Harder since that requires parts of the database, but not all of it, so you'd have to figure out what tables to back up.

Not that bad, though if you're familiar with phpMyAdmin (Exporting & Importing) and Zen-Carts database tables. Just a little time consuming.

OK...Just going to duplicate the whole thing. One thing has me stuck. There is no ZC_Install directory or file on my current site. Do I need to download a fresh copy of zen cart an find that folder?

I think I remember deleting a few things and renaming my admin folder due to a security risk..I bet thats where it went.

If you've already got ZC installed on your new server, then you just need to "Update" or "Replace" the tables in your database to reflect what you have on your old server, and not have to install ZC, again.,
