    Default mail sent but never arriving

    Hello,

    I'm a bit confused by zencarts email functions. I set up 1 email address in newsletter test group email. Yet when I go and try to send an email i see 'email test group - newsletter only subscribers (2). I send off the email, the system responds by indicating 'Notice: Email sent to: Email Test Group - Newsletter-only subscribers (2)' but nothing arrives. I'm using sendmail....

    I then tried to send an email to myself (ie administrator) . Again,
    response is ' Notice: Email sent to: Administrator (1)' but nothing arrives.

    Any help greatly appreciated

    Just another addition to the above message:

    I installed newsletter subscriber mod. If I set my email transport method to PHP this works fine. I test a new newsletter subscriber and the email is sent. However , if I now try and send an email i get

    'Email Error: Could not instantiate mail function. Please check Admin->Configuration->Email Options->Email Transport.'

    If i set the email transport method to sendmail, i avoid the above error, but the subscription newsletter thing does not work. Why should this be so damn complicated !!!!

    Have my site on siteground (their support is non-existent). Have tried all the email transport methods that zen cart offers. The one that seems to work (ie sends the email is sendmail).

    I tried changing my email in admin>tools>admin-settings and then tried sending to this new email using newsletters and product notifications(newsletter). Get this response from the system....

    Watch your mail box ([email protected]) for:

    c) removal requests.
    Removals can be processed by editing Customer records in the Admin | Customers menu.

    Yet, result is the same as sending the email from tools>send-email.

    My setup of smtp in the zen cart has not been done, but this should be irrelevant, considering I'm using sendmail as transport method. So far a 6 hour waste of time. What a pain in the arse

    Well finally found the solution to this nightmare.

    In admin>config>email options u can use sendmail or sendmail -f for siteground hosted sites. However, I had my 'Email Address (sent FROM)' field set to an email address not set up on siteground yet (site was transferred from another server to siteground). ie [email protected] had to be changed to admin@tennis_junction.com for it to work.

    Genius is 80% hard work, 50% sweat and tears, and 30% pure inspiration ......
