Trouble modifying 1 page checkout to show Radio Button choice

I am curreently using the 1.3.8 version and have modified the 1 page checkout to enable customers to determine which supplier they wish to pick up their purchase from (a bit like screwfix) but i just cannot get the information from the radio buttons to show which supplier has been chosen. I there an addon that allows this, i have been trying for the past week and cannot find a solution. I am using the onclick command, although i'v been reading that this may be the problem.

Have you allowed for some DB record to save these to with the associated code to effect saving the selection to the DB?

At present i have got the radio buttons to appear on screen but i cannot get the value of the customer selected button, once i can figure out how to do that i think it will be easy to send that vale to the database, unforunately i have found out that my website host company do not support ajax so my understanding is that radio buttons and php do not work nicely together.

What can i do?

Your original post did not mention ajax - - are you using ajax?

Sounds like you are going to need a coder to work this out and maybe another host

Well i'm not sure what I need, i'm informed that the selection and parsing of radio button information can only be done using ajax, since i havent a clue i am following what i'm being told, but i dont see why parsinginformation via a radio button selection can be so hard and not possible in php
