    Default .htaccess

    Does ZenCart 1.3.8 require .htaccess?

Unfortunately we're on Yahoo! Small Business. They're over priced and under powered. I specifically told the company I work for the features I wanted before we signed up with a web host. We had to move hosts since our old one's service went down the toilet.

They still took the advice of some stupid network consultant who doesn't know what he's talking about (and has since been fired).

Yahoo! Small Business doesn't allow changes or uploading .htaccess.

I would personally sign up for Blue Host since I've used them before, they're ZenCart certified, but the company isn't sure if they want to shell out for a year's worth of hosting just yet. They want me to find a free solution to test things on.

Zencart doesn't require htaccess, but you can use it.

There are no 'free' hosts that work well with Zencart or any other dynamic database-driven program.

My host charges $4 a month (or $44 a year) for their basic package and you can pay month to month.

Do you have more details on them? I have a friend who would like to try something out but he doesn't want to buy a full years hosting, $4 a month sounds ideal for what he wants to try (I assume it's US based?)

    How about your local PC?

Thanks for the info! Am uploading ZenCart now to our Yahoo! account to try out. Looks like everything will work then. The only thing with Yahoo! is to use SSL you can only put your files in that directory.. so it's http://www.yourdomain.com/ssl/ only.
