    Default Close My Store, allow old customers to view purchases

    I have a zencart site that I need to close down, but i want to allow past customers to still be able view their past purchases. I'm having a hard time finding any previous posts that are of help with this. I guess most people don't intentionally shut down their sites?

    I need to stop new people from registering as they can't seem to read the big bold red notice saying that the site is closed. We set up a new site and are trying to redirect everyone there, but we still get people who forgot what and when they bought something so I need the old site only for this purpose.

    I would like to delete as much of the zencart site as possible, and only allow people to see their order history. Any thoughts? Eventually I will just dump the database and delete the site entirely, but right now it's better to keep a little bit of the site going.

    Are you going to close down the site completely? If you are not you can use the Website Maintenance.

    I'm using the website maintance right now as a temporary fix, but I'm not sure if existing customers can login as my work computer has a static IP and the site is set to allow me site access. I can test from home later.

    I will in a few months completely delete the site, but for now I wanted to remove the ability for people to create new accounts. I've emptied out all my categories and have no active products. Pretty much all that still displays is the contact form and links to our new site. What I want is for if someone with an account logs in, all they will see is their purchase history I think I'm 85% to where I want to be.

    I want to remove any site files down to the bare minimum(or at least set permissions on the server) to reduce what's there and increase the potential for it being secure. I'm really busy with our new site and can't keep an eye on the old, so it's going to get a bit neglected in case of any security fixes are needed. It's a bit harder to hack files that don't exist, but I can't just start deleting stuff in case I break some functionality that I want. I've already tried commenting out some parts of files and removing others, but I had to revert my changes as it had unintended consequences.

    If you put the site on "showcase", no one will be able to make purchases. I'd suggest 1 (showcase, no prices) admin>configuration>my store>store status

    Code:
    What is your Store Status
    0= Normal Store
    1= Showcase no prices
    2= Showcase with prices

    There's also a setting in Admin/Configuration/Customer Details where you can make any new accounts have to be approved.
    I'm not sure if you'd have to go in and approve your already existing customers.

    Well I've already done all the things that everyone's suggested, and it's ok but not really what i want. I still have a full site installed with no active products and people needing approval, but I really wanted to delete any functions from the site that I no longer need.

    I guess what I want isn't possible. I might just delete the site entirely and put up a static page informing previous customers to email me for their order history details. Then I'll just have to find them in the database and email it back to them, urggh!

    I wouldn't worry too much about it
    Most of my customers don't even realise (or care) that they can view their order history.
    Let alone have a reason (or want to) view it.

    yeah that's what i'm hoping, but my customers always find a way to do something that complicates things.
    another thing is that i have a few outstanding gift certificates that are in limbo and by law i can't delete them as they don't ever expire. theres some issues with them that prevents me from just re-issuing them on the new site right now, so I'm hoping to get the concerned customers on the site to resolve them
