IE Versus Firefox and Chrome

I'm having a battle of the browsers at the moment.

I'm trying to figure out why the second row (the search bar and cart) is longer than the categories in ie but not in firefox and chrome. I have no idea what is going on.

Can any one help me?

I'm also having a similar conflict between ie and firefox inside of my define main page where clever communities is being knocked down a line in IE but not in firefox or chrome. Any insight would be great!
