I set the site up and changed the config permisions and all was ok no warning messages. I was working on the site yesterday and ftped some zen folders since then i get the write warning for the config file I have chmod in cpanel and spoke to the hosting comp and they insist that the permisions are set at 644

Depending upon server configuration - this might need to be set to 444

Where is your site where we can see it?

Might need to clear your browser cache??

This is fully a file permission issue
Have your host set it to 444 for these 2 files

Hi. New user here so be gentle! Just thought I might jump in here as I have a related problem with a new install.

Running on a Linux server all has gone OK but when I go to the shop page I get the warning the OP describes. Both config files are showing as 644 which I understand should be acceptable - the host sets it to 644 even if I select 444 but the Zen instal notes suggest 644 should be ok.

    Cashe has been cleared.

    Same message in other browsers.

    Any ideas?

    Cheers
    Andy
