Default Login problem with IE and secure/insecure items

    Hallo,

When I successfully login as a user, I am being redirected to the next page over secure connection.

Most of the times this works fine. Especially when I have collected some items in my basket I hit checkout and the login page redirects me to the checkout page.

However, when I am in a product's page, hit login and successfully accomplish the login procedure, the login page redirects me back to the product's page ... where IE issues the very frightening "secure and non secure items" message due to some links or photos that exist over there.

    Firefox performs just fine ...

What can I do about it?

    Kind regards,

All links in a default product page are relative and would be converted to https:

Need to know what you have on your product page that is at issue such as added hard links to ???

    Thank you for your reply.

Actually a have an embedded video in that particular page. The code of that video is inserted through the "product description" field.

Can I do something to prevent this message?

    Kind regards,

Hmmm, no, it does not load.

The code is the "embed video" code provided by youtube. I changed both http instances to https but it does not work.

Do you think there might be another workaround available?

    Kind regards,

This issue could be related to the following:
    http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=152477

They might have common grounds in respect to the fact that when zen cart redirects from a secure page to another (normally nonSSL page) the connection still remains encrypted. ie from login page to products page, or from checkout page to shopping cart page, from admin login to admin home etc.

It can be reproduced to a fresh 1.3.8a zen cart installation, according to the instructions in the link above or by just observing what happens when loging in to customers or admin pages.

    I would appreciate your help.

    Kind regards,

    The issue appeared again.

IE, reports that there are secure and non secure items when someone logs in and lands at a product's info page.

Rendering the video through an https connection is not sound solution because this involves a significant delay.

I have opened the following thread asking advice on how to permanently redirect (301) people who login, to the shopping cart page in a hopeless effort to cater for this issue.

    http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showth...153#post980153

Another solution I came up with, is to create a special announcement for the users of IE at the login page, informing them that if they are redirected to the product info page they will face an exaggerating "security" message.

I would appreciate your help and your ideas!
