    Default Help With Regulations

Hello everyone. I have done a search to see if anyone else has had a need for this, and although there have been similar questions, I still need a specific fix.

I would like to create two checkboxes on the checkout page asking the customer two questions. If they check one box, they are allowed to continue the transaction, if they check the other box, the transaction is blocked.

Kind of like how the Terms and Conditions works when set to True in Configuration --> Regulations. But only there is an A and a B option.

I'm sure there will need to be custom coding, but how much???

    Thank you.

Terms and Conditions is built in but you have not provided enough info about what you intend on having

    Oops, sorry!

This is what I am needing.

If a customer selects a product, they need to be a "Home" user not a "Commercial" user. So once a customer selects an item and is ready to check out, we need to ask them something like, "are you a home user" or "are you a commercial user" at the checkout page.

If they select "home" user, they can continue to complete the transaction. If they select "commercial" then there needs to be a message that says, we are not authorized to sell to commercial customers, please contact us for other options"...

What if as a commercial user I select "Home user"?

I guess anyone could always do that. But we are under a contract, and to satisfy the regulations with our provider, they are requiring us to do this.

Why I asked and pointed this out is because you could change the text displayed using the T&C to state something like:

Read & Check here ONLY if you are not a commercial user
    or
Read & Check here ONLY if you are a home user
And additional detail can be in the T&C page

    Hey Kobra,

Well I actually already did that. But when our site was reviewed, we were told that we had to have the two options.

Well then it will need to be custom coded on the frontend and the admin side....
There does not exist a record to hold it in the DB so that will need to be added also....

So then are you saying to look at how Terms and Conditions is set up and pretty much duplicate it and add a record to the DB? And I'll be able to custom code it by looking at the code for Terms and Conditions.

Thank you. :-) Wondering if we'll need to request commercial help but hoping Zen forum can help with this.

The support in here is just so frustrating. Yet again, another question in this forum that goes unanswered and just ignored.
