    Default Admin Profiles Installation

Hi I'm sorry I didn't post this in the Admin Profiles Sticky I couldn't find where to post a new thread.

I want to install the add on Admin Profiles and am getting a little confused.

On part 1 it says to go into admin/sql patches.. I have found that area. Now do I browse to the files and find them and just click on install. Please bare with me I have never done this before. If I am correct which file do I upload. I have looked in the files and do not find anything that ends with .sql file..

I have two folders that were in the zip file.

One that says Admin and in that are two folders

that say Images and Includes, underneath that is a .php file called admin_control and another file called denied both of these are .php scipts

The other folder says extras- patched for ZC 1.38a
and in that is an includes folder and a file called admin.php script

Can someone please direct me to the correct file and tel me how to install it.

Once I get passed this point then do I take the whole Folder called "Admin" and drop it into my shop/admin or do I have to do folder to folder and then drop the .php files into the admin section.

Also what about that folder called patched for ZC 1.38a

I hope I have made myself clear. I have read and reread the instructions and do not want to crash my shop as I made it this far making changes. LOL

    My shop is http://ididitcreations.com/shop

    Thanks so very much

how far have you got with your 138a shop?

I ask as this might be better to be rebuilt with 139..

because to install Admin Profiles on a 139 shop is easier than installing it on a PATCHED 138 shop....
Not that it is hard, just confusing for first timers.. i remember your pain

i had a store at 80% complete when 139 came out, and it will be quicker (for me) to just rebuild my shop in 139 than try an upgrade, bearing in mind i have approx 25 add-ons / Mods installed

So far I have done all the files changes I needed to do. I didn't know I wasn't using the latest version of Zen. I'm not too code savoy and just made my way around to get the shop looking the way it does. I don't even know how to update.

I did find a file that looks like a text file called

install_admin_profiles it says it's an .sql file.. so now I don't know what to do.. LOL

    1. Open the install_admin_profiles.sql file with a text editor - Notepad is fine. Highlight all the text and Copy it.

    2. Go to Admin - Tools - Install SQL Patches and Paste the text into the box. Click Send. That will add everything to the database.

    3. Using your FTP program, drag the 'admin' folder in the mod to the root (top directory) of your site. That will put all the files in the proper place.

    4. Then drag the 'admin' folder in the 'extras - patched files ...' folder to the root of your site, clicking 'yes' if you're prompted to overwrite.

I'm pretty sure I'm understanding you. The root folder being
on my FTP for my Zen Cart "Shop" is that right? Just drop and drag the whole folder "admin" to their? and then do the same for the extras..

Yes. You'll drag it to the folder just above the current 'admin' folder- in your case, /shop

Don't worry about the upgrade file.

I hate to say this but I did exactly as you said. It didn't crash. wooohooo! but it's not there. There should be a little icon next to the one of the admins/designers name and there is not. Any suggestions on what I need to do.

    Thanks
