    Default Login page not main page when must be authorised to browse

    Guys

    I'm currerntly developing a site with zen cart. I'm pretty new and only developed one site so far.

    What i'm trying to do is place a Flash banner on my homepage that can be viewed by anyone. Then give an option below the banner to login.

    However when I set that customers must eb authorised to browse and must login to see products the deafault page that customers get when they aren't authorised or not logged in is the login page.

    Is there anyway to default this to the homepage or a custom page using the authorised to browse setting?

    I have searched the internet and this forum and have seen a few posts about these subjects, but nothing that fully helps me.

    Site temporary URL is http://213.175.207.14/~archipel/shop/

    That's exactly what's supposed to happen. If you want your Flash on a 'start' page with a link to the store (a mistake, in my opinion) create the Flash page and name it index.html and place it in the root of your Zencart site. Most servers are set up to load index.html before index.php, which is the Zencart index page.

    What I want is a user to see a front page that would not show any products and my flash in a banner position.

    As I have done on my other site with another template.

    See http://www.greyheron.co.uk

    Then have the login button below to allow a user to login or register.

    I guess an acceptable alternative would be to allow banner - header position 2 to only be shown on the login page and banner header position 3 to be shown on all other pages. Is this possible?

    Did you try setting up your shop so that Customers must login to browse in the Configuration ... Customer Details ...
    Customer Shop Status - View Shop and Prices
    Customer must be approved to shop
    0= Not required
    1= Must login to browse
    2= May browse but no prices unless logged in
    3= Showroom Only

    Yeah I have, that's why I get the login page as the first page. This is related to the other thread I have you are helping me with.

    What i'm looking to do is have a homepage that is not the login page where no products are shown. On that page I want a flash banner and some short information about the company.

    I then want a link from that page to the login page so that people can sign up.

    This is not built into Zen Cart to use this format ... you would need to customize the code to work this way ...

    Is there any way to add a fomatable text field similar to the homepage to go at the top of the login page or in the middle of the login page so I can add some free text to the page?
