Create Account - Default Email unchecked ? Cold Steel

On the Create Account page https://chilloutfashions.com.au/inde...ain_page=login neither radio button (HTML or TEXT only) is pre-selected despite these settings in admin:

Configuration > Customer Details
Show Newsletter Checkbox set to 1 (optional)
Customer Default Email Preference set to 1 (HTML)

No matter which option I am choosing in Customer Details (HTML or TEXT), the relevant boxes always remain unchecked.

This is also the case if Show Newsletter Checkbox set to 2= Display Checked (not that I want to do that for legal reasons...) - the box remains unchecked.

I am stumped especially since this not my first ZC installation.

Any ideas?

May need to check the Cold Steel upgrade version against my files. Could have made a boo-boo there

Checked and compared my template files and can't make any head or tail out of this mystery - very strange indeed.

Found the culprit

The corresponding override file of includes/modules/create_account.php residing in includes/modules/MY_TEMPLATE/create_account.php was missing this piece of code in the section

/**
* Set some defaults
*/

$email_format = (ACCOUNT_EMAIL_PREFERENCE == '1' ? 'HTML' : 'TEXT');
$newsletter = (ACCOUNT_NEWSLETTER_STATUS == '1' || ACCOUNT_NEWSLETTER_STATUS == '0' ? false : true);

No idea how I stuffed this one up but good ole WinMerge helped to fix it.

I might add to my last post that this problem had nothing to do with Clyde's Cold Steel template - his contribution works absolutely perfect (as usual - thanks Clyde) - it was simply related to a boo-boo I created (??) myself
