I don't know about HTMLArea, but I don't have Curlz MT installed on my pretty-much-stock XP computer, so I (and anyone else using XP, and, I think, Windows 7) won't see that font on your pages anyway.
As Steve indicates, the font that you choose on YOUR side, ALSO has to be on the customer's computer.
I too don't have that "curlz" font on my machine, so if you specify that "curlz" is the font you want to use, then all computers without it will not see that font.
That is why websites stick to the "generic" fonts - ones that are always embedded in the operating software.

its pointless to specify a font on your site that most people wont have installed on their own computer. Their browser will just subsitute your fancy font for their standard (eg arial/times new roman) ones and your site will look nothing like what you have designed.
There are lists available of the default-installation Windows and Mac fonts that you should choose from, to get the most compatibility with other machines.
Better than Cufon is simple javascript and php that will generate your font as "images" using the GD Library. I have used this method often in designing sites.
See this article on A List Apart to learn how to do it : http://www.alistapart.com/articles/dynatext/
BTW - I don't recommend this for ALL text on your site, but for headings. titles, etc. it is a very handy technique
