Nigel are you familiar with the Super Sleight script?? I have had EXCELLENT success making PNGs in IE6 behave with this script in place.. No more blue halos..
Diva the halo i am talking will happen on any browser or image program as its part of the image, not an IE handling bug in this case, the imagefill function doesn't handle alpha transparancy, you need to use imagefilledrectangle, but when i tried that it caused a few other issues namely stuffing up gifs and jpegs, so yeah the above code change improves it for pngs but its not perfect yet. if you look on the link above select the "transparent test preset"and create the buttons you see the red around them when they are on the white background

actually I have transparent pngs working perfectly, however it completely destroys the gif and jpeg creation scripts, trying to get all 3 working correctly is making my brain bleed

Default Zen Cart Button Construction Kit 1.6.5 -- An Observation and KUDOS!!!

So first off thanks BIG TIME to torvista and nigel for an OUTSTANDING update to this module.. Ya'll are smart as heck, and I realy admire cats like you!!

So today I was looking at ver 2.0 of this tool by the original author @: zen-bck.mediakitchen.de

For the longest time I think MANY of us in the Zen Cart community were wishing and hoping the author would change his mind and offer what looked like a BIG improvement to his tool up to the Zen Cart community.. On the surface it (v2.0) looked like it had many neat new features.. (PNG support being the one I in particular was eyeballing..)

    Fast forward to today..

I've been beating the crap out of nigel's latest updates (ver 1.6.7beta) not only does he have PNGs working , but it is also cross browser compatible (with a SLIGHT -- I must stress this SLIGHT -- caching issues from everyone's FAVORITE browser -- IE).. I have personally tested the 1.6.7beta release with Firefox, IE8, Safari, and Chrome -- all work MAGNIFICENTLY!!!. The caching with IE is MINOR (nothing that a good old refresh won't fix) and is par for the course for a sub par browser.. I bet if nigel and torvista worked for old Bill Gates you all wuld beat IE into submission too!!! **shrugs** (gotta LOVE IE..)

I compared ver 1.6.7beta to the v2.0 of the button generator. Funny thing I discovered is that aside from a slight cosmetic appeal (SLIGHT!!!), v2.0 of the button generator is NOT cross browser compatible (it is especially NOT compatible with IE -- in fact it flat out DOESN'T work with IE)..

My point?? Just wanted to say that I am no longer suffering from the "grass is greener" syndrome when comparing the two tools now.. The grass is not only greener HERE but we even have some flowers over in the flowerbed, and tomatoes in the garden.. My way of saying that I'm pretty stoked you two superstars took this on!!

Thanks again for doing this and more importantly for SHARING!!!!!!

PS. Torvista - Daddy's office is STILL the coolest place to be!!

1.6.8 Submitted for download.. BIG kudos to Torvista and Nigel for the BEST version of this module yet..

    Checkout the new feature list:

    • Improved user interface (module & readme) -- new tabbed layout courtesy of the Tabbed Products Pro module
    • Squashing various layout and functional bugs
    • Improved button template layout
    • Added custom button creation functionality including the ability to choose the icon to be used on your custom button
    • Javascripts and CSS files moved to the "includes" folder
    • Updated icon overlay definitions for admin buttons. Each admin button now has a defined icon--added additional silk icons to support the updated icons
    • Addition of more Droid Open Source fonts
    • Formatting changes for 100% html validation
    • W3C validation icon added to app main page and readme
    • Updates to readme (including moving the readme file to it's own directory)

As soon as this version is approved and available I will update the community

    Hi all.

How would one go about adding an additional language to the project? I would be willing to supply the content for an Icelandic button set.
