Pricing By Square Foot, Selling By The Carton

Hi! Please forgive me as I am new to Zen Cart, and my boss basically threw me into this creek without a paddle. I really appreciate the time you take to read this. I am using v1.3.9b, btw. We would like to show the product's price by the square foot, but sell it by the carton.

I searched and found this thread with a similar problem, but didn't really understand the answer given. I tried to mess with the fields that they mentioned, but no luck.

A sample product is $6.47 a square foot and 22.992 square feet come in a carton. We are only selling by the carton. How would I enter these numbers into Zen Cart to make sense of it? Again, I really appreciate your time. Thank you so much!

There is nothing built in to do this; you're going to have to write software.
