Email being jacked

I am getting a bunch of emails from all over that are daemon mail error ... i.e.( [email protected]) << this is one of them ...
there is no account set up for that on my server that i know of .. i am getting tons of these all using my website domain ... they look to be machine generated but not sure and come from all over the world @zencart4u.com ... can someone tell me what i need to do to stop this action? thanks in advance ... sounds a little like spam, does your hosting company use Postini? I use that service through my hosting company and all sorts of spam is completely gone.

As far as receiving them you could setup only valid emails accounts to use and send all the remaining that come in that are not to the valid emails to the blackhole ...

Work with your host on how to do this for your site ...

Unless you have a reason to need all emails ever sent to your site, only set up valid accounts for valid emails and set the reset to go to the blackhole ...

its not just that they are sending them TO me ... its they are sending them out FROM me .... these answers are not dealing with the security end of my problem ... its a zen cart ... and the email has been taken over .... tons of emails going out with my domain name ... if you don't know the answer to this question then don't post, Please.... i know what spam is ... this is a zen cart issue ...

Review the headers ... is it really going out from you or just saying it is going out from you?

ZenCart does not have a MTA in it's code
It only uses the mail MTA provided by the server
Before you trash ZenCart or any other script you should know what you are talking about!!

No, kobra doesn't work for Zen Cart. But that doesn't justify your crass language and attitude.

But the problem you're reporting isn't spam. It's abuse.

No, it's not a Zen Cart issue.

What's happened is this:
- someone has picked your domain name from a list
- then they've set up a bot somewhere to start sending emails to random emails @your-domain.
- you're getting reports of failures when those emails can't be delivered, because your domain is the recipient of those failure notifications

It's got nothing to do with Zen Cart. The only similarity is that you've used Zen Cart's name in your domain name. But that doesn't make it Zen Cart's problem.

You have 3 courses of action:
1. shut down your domain and switch to another one ... that'll stop the problem immediately, but will only work until they find your new one and do it again
2. set up your domain so that emails bound to addresses other than known accounts are deleted automatically (ie: what Ajeh suggested about :blackhole:). Also set up domainKeys and smart MX rules so smart MTA's (Mail Transfer Agents, ie: mailservers) know to reject attempts at abusing your domain
3. ignore it

thank you for the straight answer ... as far as kobra or whatever his name is ... he said i was trashing zen cart and was offensive saying how obvious it was i didn't know what i was talking about... i noticed you said nothing to him in my defense so i will have to consider myself the outsider, just seems a bit one sided, i didn't ask him to respond, he felt important enough to say his peace as did i ... yet i am the jerk ... he drew first blood if you will ... i simply reacted to his offense ... doesn't matter now really and if someone thinks i was condescending then i am sorry... was not my intent .. however i will not sit by why some self inflated jerk rattles my cage for his own little control games ... thanks for the answer .. i wont ever ask anything more of you... humbly yours ...
