As above really, Iwas just editting a few words in

include > languages > english.php

and the site disappeared.

I tried undoing the changes I made, but the site did not reappear.

If that's the file you were editing, when you "lost" it, then there's going to be a problem in there somewhere.

Try using a default english.php and see if it works with it.
Then, if it does, compare both files to find your mistake.

Do any of your words have apostrophes in?

You'll need to escape the apostrophe.
