Default PayPal express error (6) Couldn't resolve host 'api-3t.paypal.com'

    Zen Cart 1.3.8A
    PHP Version: 4.4.6 (Zend: 1.3.0)
    HTTP Server: Apache/1.3.37 (Unix) mod_auth_passthrough/1.8 mod_log_bytes/1.2 mod_bwlimited/1.4 FrontPage/5.0.2.2635.SR1.2 mod_ssl/2.8.28 OpenSSL/0.9.7a PHP-CGI/0.1b

Noticed this morning I am getting the above error regarding not being able to resolve a PayPal host when customers try to use PayPal express? It was working fine last week and nothing to my knowledge has changed on my server. Is there an incompatibility between 1.3.8 and PayPal now?

    Thanks
    Bill

That sounds like a hosting issue - What does your host say?
Please do not PM for support issues: a private solution doesn't benefit the community.

Be careful with unsolicited advice via email or PM - Make sure the person you are talking to is a reliable source.

Zen Cart needs to talk to the PayPal servers via external communications, using CURL.
CURL acts like your browser does, asking for the server to supply nameserver lookup results for the URL being accessed.
If your server can't supply that information, the connection cannot be made, and the error message you're seeing is the result of that failure.
The only one who can fix that is your hosting company.
    Raise a ticket with them.

My server modified the resolv.conf entries and the issues appear to be resolved now.

    Thanks for the direction.
