    Default Paypal "Standard" at 70%

    Hey all,

    I am using 1.3.8a

For awhile now I have been using Ppal Standard and around 20-30% of the time it either does not return the IPN or my store does not receive it. I have had to ask the customer what they ordered but I am tired of this. This causes no order details to register with the store when it happens.

I have meticulously checked the the website preferences page in my Ppal account and all is correct (hence receiving most of the orders).

Paypal has said that all is ok. I have even tried to resend the IPN on orders that this happens with. Also, it seems to happen consistently with foreign orders. Orders using the Pound or the Australian currency for example.

Has anyone else had this happen to them?

Do I need to go to Paypal Express? If so what is the downside of going to that?

PayPal Express is a much better option - no downside at all. Just don't have both (Standard and Express) installed at the same time.

You may want to consider updating your store to 1.3.9d though.

I do plan to upgrade, I first need to switch over to Paypal Express though. Not enough time right now to go through the upgrade process.

I need to look around for a tutorial or article that details the process of installing PayPal Express and how it works.

    Thanks for the heads up!

Inside your admin, there's a link in the sidebar for the PayPal Express Checkout module that points to the setup instructions, also located here: www.zen-cart.com/getpaypal

Because there's no reason to have both installed. Paypal Express does everything Paypal IPN does and is more stable. Also, your customers may be confused by two Paypal options.
