Default Moving Files from WAMP to Server. Please Help.

    Hello,

I've designed the zen cart template locally using WAMP.

I created a test sub domain so I can move the files to the server and do a live test before moving to main domain.

I uploaded all the zen cart files from WAMP to the sub domain.

Where do I go from here? I've been using the search feature but running into anything to push me in the right direction.

Do I have to set up a database on the server first? or does zen cart do that for me?

Do I go into the zc_install/index.php and do a fresh install on the sub-domain?

Please advise. I would greatly appreciate it.

the simplest way i do these so as not to have inaccuracies in my configure files is to do a new install,
Copy all your files from WAMP installtion including the zc_install
create a new database on your new host
    install zencart as normal
when installed check to see it works

    backup your WAMP database
using phpmyadmin with your new host, drop the tables in this new database, and then import your WAMP database

    test your new site

Guys, thanks a lot. I have my test site live now.

Now I need to move the database on my local PC to the new database on the server.

Do I just export the db on my local and import on the new? There are lots of options when trying to export a db, so what do I choose?

    Thanks again!

this is what my screen looks like when i import a new database

i think it might be an auto increment problem, when you made the backup did the settings look the same as my jpg earlier?

yes, my settings were the same as both screen shots you provided.

i didn't empty the database on the new server, maybe that is the issue.

on the new database, do i just go under the "Structure" tab, and check all the boxes and delete? would that empty it?

    thanks again.
