How do I show a product that comes in two packages sizes & Prices?

I am a new Zen Cart user and am having a difficulty.

All items on my web site come in two package configurations, each with its own price. If I enter the products the "standard" way I need to enter every product twice (once for each package) and have it viewed by the customers as two separate items.

How can I enter this in the product list so that it shows with one entry and one picture but two prices and select buttons. A pull-down menu or two buttons or something similar would all work.

I am using Zen version 1.3.9d.

What you are after is attributes.

That will get you started

Basically you need to define an option name, for instance 'package'. Then you give that option name two (or however many you want) option values. Then you use 'attribute controller' admin >> categories and products >> attirbute controller to tell zen which products have which attribute values.

Thanks for that info. It has helped a bit. I was able to define two attributes and their associated prices. BUT, the "radio button" don't seem to have any effect. How do I get them to work?

A little bit more information - and ideally a URL - is going to help.

What do you mean they don't work? Are they visible on the page? If you select one and add the item to the cart does the attribute appear in the cart? What exactly did you do?

Don't worry attributes are confusing to start with but then you'll get a lightbulb moment...

The two attributes (package size choices with prices) appear for the item but the radio buttons appear as if both are selected and clicking on "add to cart" does not have any effect.

What you appear to have done is made 2 Option Names each with 1 Option Value where the name of the Option Values are prices ...

What you need to do is make 1 Option Name with 2 Option Values ...

Option Name: Container Size

Option Values should be ...
Option Name: Container Size
Option Value: Single
Default Sort Order: 10

Option Name: Container Size
Option Value: Triple
Default Sort Order: 20

Then add the Attributes as:
Option Name: Container
Option Value: Single
Prefix: blank
Price: 6.00

Option Name: Container
Option Value: Triple
Prefix: blank
Price: 15.00

Then edit the Product and mark it with a Price of 0.00 and mark it as:
Priced by Attribute: YES

To ensure customers pick the Contain they really want, you can make a 3rd Option Value:
Option Name: Container
Option Value: Select size
Default Sort Order: 0

Then add to the Product
Option Name: Container
Option Value: Select size
Prefix: blank
Price: 0.00
Display Only: YES
Default: YES

This will force the customer to choose the one that they really want as they cannot add the Select Size option value to the cart ...
