Zones/Zone Definitions

New Installation

I need to set up zones (regions within the UK) for shipping purposes. When I use the zones shipping module I get a blank screen when I go to checkout so I presume I've set something up incorrectly.

I have set up 3 zones within the UK and defined the sub-zones but the problem persists.

Other shipping modules work OK but are not what I need.

Any help would be appreciated.

This sounds like a code error ... look in the /cache directory and see what the debug logs say when you hit the blank white page ...

I haven't changed any code, so it can't be that. Also, there's nothing in the /cache directory other than .htaccess and index.php

I am not getting any errors on your site if that is it in your signature ... were you able to fix it?

I somehow managed to overcome the blank screen problem, thanks.

My problem now is that I can't get the zones shipping module to work. I need to break down the UK into mainland, Scottish Highlands, Islands and Northern Ireland. I've set up four zones with customized 2 character zone codes but the shipping module doesn't recognize these codes.

I need to charge different shipping amounts for the four zones but shipping module refers to countries within zones whereas I need zones within countries.

I'm probably being stupid but I just can't see what's wrong.

Go to the Free Software Add Ons and search for:
Zone Table

there is a shipping module that allows you to create Zone Definitions and then use those to manage your Zone Rates ...
