    Default No Upgrade Option. Just Install

    When I go through the screens there is no option to Upgrade. It says I am not in upgrade mode. What did I miss? Here is the process I followed:

    1. backed up the current database and saved as a .sql file on my hard drive.
    2. backed up the current cart files and folders onto my hard drive.
    3. downloaded a clean version of 1.3.8a (the version I’m on) and saved to my hard drive.
    4. Made a list of all my shipping and payment module settings and saved to my hard drive.
    5. The only add-on I have is local taxes.
    6. Used WinMerge to compare the backed up files of my current site to the original 1.3.8a.
    7. Downloaded 1.3.9 and saved to hard drive.
    8. Went through the 1.3.9 files and made updates based on changes discovered in step 6.
    9. I don’t think I created any new templates. I changed the background and logo on the regular template so I did not do anything with template override structures.
    10. I use GoDaddy.com and created a new database with a new name.
    11. I updated both the /includes/configure.php and admin/includes/configure.php as:
    a. define('DB_SERVER_USERNAME', 'db user name was here');
    b. define('DB_SERVER_PASSWORD', 'password was here');
    c. define('DB_DATABASE', 'db user name was here');
    12. I went through both files and changed all instances of the current file “/store” to the new one “/store_new”.
    13. I uploaded both of these via ftp to the new directory.
    14. I navigated to: /store_new/zc_install/index.php there is no option to upgrade.
    15. I went back to the configure files on the new directory and noticed the server name was the current site. I changed the server name in both configure files from the following. (I replaced numbers with X's):
    a. define('DB_SERVER', pXXmysqlXXX.secureserver.net'); to: define('DB_SERVER', 'distinctivedog.db.XXXXXXX.hostedresource.com');
    16. Still no change.
    17. Before changing the DB_SERVER, when I went to distinctivedog.com/store_new it automatically routed me back to the install index page. After changing it now my browser just displays this: 1146 Table 'distinctivedog.zen_configuration' doesn't exist in: [select configuration_key as cfgkey, configuration_value as cfgvalue from zen_configuration]. When I go to /store_new/zc_install/index.php it is still the install page with no upgrade option.
    Thanks.

    Yes, I will deal with GoDaddy later. for now, I restored the new database using the current database. Now when I go to /zc_install/index.php the Upgrade option is there at the bottom. However at the top of the page I get this message:

    * store configure.php is not writeable more info...

    Just a informational message
    As you are upgrading the DB ONLY - - there will be no writing to the configure file

    Ok. I'm filling out the info on the screen and it states: Admin Password required to proceed with upgrade. I am indeed trying the one for the cart admin. Could it have been changed at some point during the process? I can reset the password, but is there a way to look up the user name?

    As this is your old DB right now

    I confirmed in zen-admin that the user name I have is correct. The password is not working. I am resetting it and the password sent to me by email is not working either.

    I changed browsers and resent the password again. This time I got in. I'll give the upgrade a shot now. Thanks.
