"Blank" Admin login page after install

I have read everything I can find here, and I still can't seem to fix my problem.

I have installed (and re-installed) 1.3.9d. It was a fresh install.

My admin login page is blank. I cannot access it with either /admin/ alone OR via /admin/index.php

Look in the /cache directory of your store's root for a debug file.

Which debug file should I be looking for? I see several.

One named sess_fb3865190ea17115aec142fa29b0d24c tells me the following:

installerConfigKeys|a:1:{s:8:"language";s:7:"english";}installerConfigInfo|a:0:{ }

Should start with debug versus a session file. If none are there, you may need to follow the tutorial.
1.3.9# includes a debugger but sometimes it's not enough.

Make sure that file exists

It's there.

I may try doing another clean install tomorrow. New database and all.

I'm having the same problem. Blank admin page.

After I installed it works fine - other than that login page.

Just looked at pages and pages on php.ini, htaccess, reinstalls, tips and tricks - this is nuts.
