Sorry should have added the main method of payment is PayPal Pro so I need the Express Module enabled for this to work hence why I just do not want to display this as an option.
I am building up to doing the upgrade but want to test the process rather than rush in, in the meantime I am losing sales through the error, if I could just stop it displaying in this last place I would be a lot happier, help!

I too have just started to experience this sort of problem. All of a sudden I am not receiving any notifications when sales are made, customers are not seeing orders in their account when they make purchases, no download buttons to download their products and nothing is showing in my Admin. Nothing has changed via my paypal settings and my host still haven't bothered to reply to my queries and have now had to put my store on maintenance until it gets sorted out. All notifications of payments are being received via paypal but not from my store!
I have had no upgrades or any customisation of any sort. My hosts are M2Host.com.
I have tested the store myself as have others and we are all experiencing the same thing. Only a few days ago, everything was working perfectly well, no problems whatsoever!
