you need to instal zencart in the root directory of your web host, in the /

for example in the public_html folder, not in the public_html/store

I so dont want to sound really stupid but here goes - I host on yahoo and i thought i had put everything in the root directory - does this mean i should not have a sub directory called store and that the contents of that should be in the root directory? Any idea of how i get it there in yahoo - have searched and searched.

    Thanks for the help

Yes, you'll need to move the files up to the root. Your FTP program is handy for that.

If you move all the folders and files up from your /store/ folder to that folder, you'll have an index.php file there, which will cause that message to go away.
