    You can do it manually
    in the html_deader.php

    Code:
    <link rel="icon" href="./favicon.ico" type="image/x-icon" />
    <link rel="shortcut icon" href="./favicon.ico" type="image/x-icon" />
    or just add the icon to the root of your store
    most modern browsers will pick it up automatically if you name it favicon.ico

    bast practices:
    use the gif-ico format
    16X16 px

    eVelt,
    Instead of telling people to hack up their system files needlessly, it would be better to point them to the proper tutorial on the topic.
    In this case a quick search for "favicon" in the Tutorials area brings up exactly one article, which specifically deals with favicons and IE:
    http://tutorials.zen-cart.com/index.php?article=52

    When you tell people to hack things into their template files when core functionality already exists, you make it more complicated for them to upgrade and create more difficult support requirements for everyone.
