I have a custom theme installed along with Zen Cart 1.3.9f and noticed that 1.3.9g has just been released (just my luck!)
So i am now doing a full backup of the stores directory, and posting this before i stuff anything up.
I will be viewing the "changelog" in the "docs" directory of 1.3.9g and updating the necessary files as mentioned by Dr Byte in his post. I am already within the 1.3.9 criteria so there is no need to make changes to databases etc.
That being said i have been reading up a little about template over rides etc and how they ease the upgrade process because you technically have your own folder with all your changes.
What i am wondering is if i downloaded a template, and am now using that template; would that automatically mean i am using a template override or am i missing something totally different?
I have made some changes to: define_main_page.php by adding a little bit of text while i sort out all the payment methods etc. The method i used was via the admin panel in the define page editor.
So when this upgrade is finalized or a full upgrade for that matter should i make sure these files are being overridden first? or does the override system not apply to these files that are expected to be changed?
Hope my question makes sense! I just want to be sure before i change anything so i completely understand what i am doing.
Cheers in advance.
