Upload, via FTP, the whole program into a directory on my server

I'm am a REAL newbie so I have a very basic question to start. The installation instructions say "Upload, via FTP, the whole program into a directory on your server" but I don't know exactly which file contains the "whole program".

When I extract the files, I get a WHOLE BUNCH of files and I don't know which one should be uploaded to ftp??

The easy way, in my opinion, is to upload the Zencart zip file to the root directory (or the subdirectory you want to use) and extract the files using your hosting control panel's file manager.
