I want to Duplicate the Product Description text field

Hi guys and gals,

I am building a site in FR, DE and EN at the moment for a client. The product page is going to need quite a lot of customisation to get it looking right.

Basically the page will be set up with the main product image on the right and then on the left I require the following -

Product title
sub title
price
main description header
main description
usage instructions header
usage instructions
ingredients header
ingredients

Obviously the easy solution would be to put this information all in the main description box and then style it with tags or use the HTML editor, however when the client adds products in the future I want the styling all to be taken care of with css.

Then the tricky bit!!!!!!! -
Under the product image on the right I need an additional description. For this I installed the 'Extra Fields' mod but unfortunately this only supports 1 language and as I said I need it in 3. I tried editing the relevant files to get it to output 3 languages but couldn't get it to work!

The option I am hoping that someone here can help with is to duplicate the main Product Description field. Can anyone please guide me through this as I've given it a go but just can't get it to work correctly.

I tried following the thread by crazy_chris as a guide but had no luck!

I'm sure I'm not the only person who would love a mod that generates extra fields and if I had the know how I would have built one already!

Ok I have found a solution using the 'Short Description' mod available in the free add-ons.

This solves the issue of the extra description on the right, I think I will see if I can simply duplicate this for the other option I need.

I am on vacation now. I did it long time ago. You just find wherever it reference the short_desc and change it to whatever field you want. Make sure you change the SQL command to match the field you want to create.
